Introduction: There is a discussion going on at the moment in Austria whether there should be the obligation (also) for prison officers to wearing personal identification badges (names or identification numbers) on their uniforms comparable with the police or military personnel in Austria.

If yes, please detail in which specific mannerPrison officers are required to wear a unique identification number on theior epaulettes. The identification number is made up of 2 letters (identifying the prison at which the officer works ) and 3 numbers which are unique to the officer. Epaulettes are machine embroidered and given on personal issue.

Shirts, anoraks, jackets, coats, pijamas, shirts, sweatshirts tracksuits and fleeces of the staff must wear an identification sewn textile relief blue night (reference Pantone Textile 19-4023), the color signal and white negative letter. The mark consists of a rectangle vertically. The rectangle should be monochrome and headed with the sign of the Government of Catalonia and the following legend: "Government of Catalonia. Correctional Services "with Helvetica font. These identifications must be placed at the height of the left breast, centered between the buttons and the armhole and between the yoke and pocket of the shirt, and the same height and also focused on the jerseys, jackets and linings. B. One Velcro female 40 mm x 45 mm, approximately, that should be stitched just below the rectangle above. In this vein (Velcro) each officer will hook your PIN number and, if appropriate, his job position.

If yes, please detail in which specific mannerThe family name of the prison officers (staff in uniform only) is mandatory to be visible on the uniform. The Albanian Law on Prison Police no. 10032, date 11.12.2008 (amended in 2014), provisions in its chapter 1, article 4, that the identifying signs and symbols of the prison police uniforms are approved by decision of the Council of Ministers. Currently, the prison staff uniform is based on the Decision no. 180, date 06.03.1998, For the Prison Police Uniform.
In the Prison System Directorate of the Republic of Croatia official uniform for prison officers is stipulated only for officers of the security department in penitentiaries, prisons and juvenile correctional institutions. Elementary parts of the uniform contain girder for the badge with metal rings on which the badge is attached.

If yes, please detail in which specific mannerThe pieces of clothing belonging to the uniform as well as the insignia and badges used on them have to be in accordance with the range presented in the decree on uniforms of the Criminal Sanctions Agency. Pursuant to section 5 of the decree, the insignia used on the uniforms of the Criminal Sanctions Agency is round with two blue and white keys crossed in the middle on a grey background. The keys are encircled by a yellow and light blue, narrow ring. Around them, there is a wide, dark blue ring, which has RIKOSSEURAAMUSLAITOS written in capitals on the upper half and BROTTSPÅFÖLJDSMYNDIGHETEN on the lower half. On both sides between the words, there is the logo symbol of the Criminal Sanctions Agency. Pursuant to section 6 of the decree, a cloth badge, which has the insignia of the Criminal Sanctions Agency, which is 4 centimetres in diameter, embroidered on it, is attached to the wrist of the left sleeve of the women's and men's uniform jacket. A cloth name badge with a dark blue background and the official title embroidered on the top line and the first letter of the first name and the full last name on the bottom line is attached to the front left side of the women's vest. A cloth badge with a dark blue background with the name of the unit, where the official works, embroidered on it is attached to the front right side. A cloth badge, which has the insignia of the Criminal Sanctions Agency, which is 6.5 centimetres in diameter, embroidered on it, is attached to the upper arm of both sleeves of the women's and men's uniform shirt, polo neck shirt, short-sleeved collared tricot shirt, sweater, overcoat, fleece, field shirt, and field overalls. A cloth name badge with a dark blue background and the official title embroidered on the top line and the first letter of the first name and the full last name on the bottom line is attached to the front left side. A cloth badge with a dark blue background with the name of the unit, where the official works, embroidered on it is attached to the front right side. In addition, the text RIKOSSEURAAMUSLAITOS, BROTTSPÅFÖLJDSMYNDIGHETEN is embroidered on the back of the overcoat, fleece, field shirt, and field overalls. The text RISE is embroidered on the front side of the cap and woolly hat. A detachable name badge approved by the Central Administration of the Criminal Sanctions Agency is used with the uniform jacket, protective clothing, special clothing, or other outfit used based on an order of the Criminal Sanctions Agency or an order or permission of the prison director.

If yes, please detail in which specific mannerYes. In Slovenia it is mandatory for prison officers to wear personal identification badges with the initial letter of their name and complete surname on their chest, on the right side of their uniforms.
If yes, please detail in which specific mannerThis obligation is prescribed by the special rules on carrying, storing and maintaining weapons, on the types and manner of wearing prison guard's uniforms, on the epaulettes and on the usage, marking and equipment of vehicles. All those matters are covered with this rules prescribed by the minister of justice.
ID badges on uniforms are not mandatory by law, only by an internal house rule.

Yes, according with Section 81 (of Chapter 57 of Annex 1) of the Regulations No.137 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated February 10, 2009, a black plastic pin with the surname of the officer is attached to the uniform.
If yes, please detail in which specific mannerThe length of the pin is 80-100 mm, width – 15 mm. The pin has a 1 mm wide gold tone border 1 mm from the sides. In the middle of the pin there is the first letter of the name and full surname of the officer. The lettering is 10 mm high and also in gold tone. The pin is to be fastened above the right breast pocket to winter jacket, jacket/overcoat, men’s jacket, shirt, women’s blouse; however, to women’s jacket, the pin is to be fastened on the right side on the same level as the left breast pocket.

If yes, please detail in which specific mannerThe penitentiary legislation of the Republic of Lithuania established that penitentiary officers should be wearing well seen personal identification badges on their clothing with indicated names and position. In our opinion, identification numbers would be more suitable.
In the Principality of Monaco, the prison officers, as all offices of Public Security - the gendarmes of the Price and the firefighters - don't have a personal identification badge on their uniform. On the uniforms there are only the ranks corresponding to the hierarchical relation.
