Beyond Punitiveness: Crime and Crime Control in Europe in a Comparative Perspective

The European Society of Criminology announced its 13th Annual Conference. It will take place in Budapest, Hungary. Co-hosts are ELTE University, Faculty of Law, Department of Criminology and the Hungarian Society of Criminology. The general theme of the conference is the recent shift that moves away from harsh and strict punitive policies in Europe. The conference will focus on what factors influence the trends in crime control and actual policymaking mechanisms in various countries.
