to improve cooperation between prison and probation staff and impact of their work;
to present good examples of continuity of care and control on transition from prison to probation including understanding the roles of care (rehabilitation) and control (supervision);
to discuss the challenges with high-risk offenders and how to provide coordinated measures to contribute to successful transition, rehabilitation and reintegration (early release schemes, preventive detention etc);
to learn about the ICT advancements which bring numerous opportunities for better collaboration between prison and probation services, especially for managing high-risk offenders and those involved in organized crime;
to share good practice and discuss programs and initiatives (including medical, mental health, addiction, and other rehabilitation needs) that have proven successful in reducing recidivism and supporting the successful transition of individuals into society.
