Call for Nominations: EPTA Coordination Committee


The European Penitentiary Training Academies (EPTA) is a network within EuroPris, connecting the different training academies in the Council of Europe region. The main objectives include promoting the exchange of knowledge, content, programmes, and best practices; facilitating the exchange of professionals and trainers to foster mutual enrichment; and enhancing communication among its partners. The network will be managed by a
EPTA Coordination Committee which will primarily focus on the following:  

  • Training: content, pedagogy, training staff, training of trainers, training curriculum, future training strategies, tackling the challenges faced by prison staff.  
  • Human resources: staff recruitment and retention, job attractiveness and values, staff wellbeing, and improving the agency’s image. 


EuroPris invites to nominate candidates for the
EPTA Coordination Committee for the term of 2 years (with possibility of renewal) starting in January 2025.  

The EPTA Coordination Committee will consist of the following: 

  • EuroPris Coordinator: Cédric Le Bossé from the ENAP (France) 
  • Four Penitentiary Training Academies representatives (nominated by the head of the academy) 
  • Two Human Resources experts from prison services (nominated by the liaison) 
  • EPTA Keyholder: Bulgaria for 2025 

Roles and Responsibilities of the EPTA Coordination Committee:

  • Support the organisation of the EPTA Annual Conference and other EPTA activities 
  • Participate in EPTA Coordination Committee meetings. The committee will meet physically once a year 1.5 days (with additional online meetings as required and jointly agreed upon) 
  • Drafting relevant outputs (reports, overviews, findings, best practices and lessons learnt) to be shared with the EuroPris and EPTA members 
  • Suggesting topics for the agenda of the meetings 
  • Represent EuroPris and EPTA at related conferences and events
