Additional information
The prison was put into use in 1988 as a correctional institution for sentenced women included to the first, second and third correctional group and juvenile females in Trnava. On the territory of Slovakia at the end of World War II, sentenced women served their prison sentence progressively in three places, in Želiezovce, Bratislava-Petržalka and finally in Bratislava-Mlynská dolina. In all these cases, the material-technical conditions and spatial conditions of the prison sentence execution were unsatisfactory. The Administration of the Corps of Corrections had to deal with this unfavorable situation. In 1977, the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic decided on the beginning of construction of an institution that would replace the then Unit of the Corps of Corrections in Bratislava-Mlynská dolina. Now the prison belongs to the cadastral municipality of Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou. The construction works started in October 1982 and the entire complex was completed only in July 1988. The final adjustment and furnishing of the newly built Unit of the Corps of Corrections in Trnava started in August 1988 and was completed in November 1988.
