In close co-operation with the Norwegian Directorate of Correctional Service (KDI) and the Correctional Service of Norway Staff Academy (KRUS), CEP will organise a conference on Working with young adult offenders – in the age category of 16 to 25 years old. It would seem this is an appropriate subject in a time where much attention is – rightly – given to the category of juvenile offenders under 18 years old.
The conference will take place in Lillestrøm, Norway on the 31st August- 1st September 2016.
The program, with representations from many different countries, includes contributions from Norway, The Netherlands, the United States of America, Catalonia, Slovenia, Estonia, Belgium, England and Scotland. The program will run as a lunch-to-lunch seminar and will combine plenary sessions and workshops with specific themes.
Subjects to be presented and discussed include inter alia:
There is also attention for specific Norwegian initiatives like the new “Juvenile sanction” and the special unit for young offenders with a prison sentence. The program as a whole can be seen here.
Venue and accommodation
The event is to take place in the “Home of the Correctional Service”, Solheimsgate 21 in Lillestrøm. Lillestrøm (not to be confused with the more famous Lillehammer) is a small town only 15 minutes away from Oslo international airport and 10 minutes from Oslo city (distances by train).
The main hotel in Lillestrøm, very closely located to the conference venue, is the Thon Hotel Arena. Here a number of rooms have been provisionally booked for conference participants at a negotiated price – 1285 NOK including breakfast, which equals around € 139.
If you wish to make use of this please indicate so on your registration form.
Lunches and dinner are included in the conference fee, which is set at 50 Euros per participant.
You can register here. Closing date for registration is Friday 29th of July.
