The Criminal Justice Platform Europe (CJPE) is organising the second edition of the International Criminal Justice Summer Course in Barcelona from the 3rd until the 6th of July 2018 in the Centre for Legal Studies and Specialised Training, C/ Ausiàs Marc 40, Barcelona. The aim of the Summer Course is to examine key practice issues, inspire new thinking, promote cross-fertilisation and build new networks to improve services and practice in prison, probation and restorative justice. This years theme will be radicalisation and violent extremism.
The summer courses exist of a combination of workshops, plenary sessions and field visits. Each workshop focused on understanding and responding to radicalization. Methods included training, presentations, and discussions among the participants.
The workshops were divided into three main themes:

The target audience for the Criminal Justice Summer Course exists of expert practitioners, subject specialists, project development leaders, practice managers, trainers, academic practice teachers and researchers. The workshops were attended by a mixture of participants with a background in prison, probation, and restorative justice from a variety of European countries.
The Criminal Justice Platform Europe is a partnership between three network organisations: the Confederation of European Probation (CEP), European Organisation of Prison and Correctional Services (EuroPris) and the European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ). They organise this Summer Course in collaboration with the Centre for Legal Studies (Catalan Department of Justice)
