DESCRIPTION:Objective\nThis seminar\, which forms part of a series of five co-funded by the European Union on enhancing cross-border mutual legal assistance and recognition of decisions within the context of detention\, will focus on the purpose and actual and practical use of Framework Decision 909 on the imposition of custodial sentences and their enforcement in relation to prisoner transfers and probation. \n\n\n\nIssues with its proper use and how it interacts with the European Arrest Warrant (EAW) will also be examined\, as will the situation of foreign national prisoners. \nKey topics\n\nFramework Decision 909: its purpose\, actual and practical use\nBest practice and mutual trust and recognition of judicial decisions\nThe interaction of Framework Decision 909 with other mutual legal assistance instruments\, in particular the EAW and probationary measures\nForeign national prisoners\nWorkshops on Framework Decision 909\, foreign national prisoners and the EAW\n\nWho should attend?\nJudges\, prosecutors\, lawyers in private practice and prison staff who are citizens of eligible EU Member States participating in the EU Justice Programme (Denmark does not participate)\, Albania\, Bosnia and Herzegovina\, Kosovo*\, Moldova and Ukraine. *This designation is without prejudice to positions on status and is in line with UNSCR 1244/1999 and the ICJ opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence. \n\n\n\nRegisteration\nTo register for this event please visit: https://www.era.int/event/framework-decision-909-and-its-impact-on-the-transfer-of-prisoners/
