On 14-16 October the first EuroPris Real Estate & Logistics Workshop will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The workshop will be a full two-day event hosted by the Slovenian Prison Service. The programme contains a number of presentations on prison real estate development, such as design for rehabilitation and design of women prisons. The plan is to also include cross-sectoral presentations on education, family relations and ICT.
After five successful Expert Meetings in Portugal, the Netherlands, Finland, Belgium and Sweden and an upcoming Expert Meeting in Turkey the Ljubljana Workshopprovides an opportunity to share the work undertaken by the group including reports on Public Private Partnerships and Prison Design, together with their forthcoming reports on the Design for Finland’s Women’s Prison and an examination of the findings generated from the report on Designing for Rehabilitation. In addition it will also include opportunities to explore topics raised by member countries at the EuroPris Annual General Meetings alongside those identified for further examination by the Real Estate & Logistics expert group. The workshop will also provide an opportunity to hear experts from EuroPris’ Technology, Education and Family Relations groups on future developments in their areas which need to be reflected in the design of the built environment.
