The use of e-learning for staff training was the topic of workshop organized jointly by EuroPris and CEP and hosted by the Irish Probation and Prison Service in Dublin on 10 and 11 December 2015. The workshop presented a mixture of presentation from experienced e-learning providers to the ones that just took the first steps with e-learning. In combination with a market place where the e-learning programs could be seen and ‘touched’ the workshop provided for useful guidance for the participants. Download here notes and presentations.
EuroPris and CEP jointly organised the second expert meeting on staff training on 23 June 2014 in the premises of CEP in Utrecht. Training experts from 5 European Prison and Probation Services, Avans University Netherlands and the directors of CEP and EuroPris participated in the event. The meeting focused on the evaluation of the staff training workshop that took place in December 2013, where topics such as Burn out/Resilience, Motivation, E-learning, Selection of Staff and Quality Measuring were discussed. Based on this evaluation the experts decided to organise the next CEP/EuroPris staff training workshop in 2015 on the topic of e-learning – why to develop, how to develop, what to develop and who should be involved.

EuroPris and CEP signed in 2013 an affiliation agreement. Part of this agreement was the decision to organize each year one joint workshop, the first of which will be held on 10th – 11th December 2013 covering issues on Staff Training and Development. A preparatory meeting with experts from the probation sector, Avans University Utrecht and the prison sector took place on 20 September 2013. Prison sector experts came from Slovenia, Scotland, Norway and the European network of Prison Training Academies. During this preparatory meeting our expert group defined the joint topics and the needs of both prison and probation sectors that will be addressed by this workshop.
