For 2026, the Swiss Centre of Expertise in Prison and Probation (SCEPP), as the current EPTA keyholder, will host the annual conference. The theme for this year’s conference is Next-Gen Trainers: Digital Skills and AI in Learning for Tomorrow.
This event will highlight the role of training in shaping future skill sets for trainers, particularly in the areas of digitalisation and artificial intelligence. It will explore pathways to leadership and the maintenance of professional competencies, while also addressing what should be integrated into training programmes and how AI can be effectively incorporated. In addition, the event will examine the risks associated with digitalisation and AI.
The conference aims to identify future key competencies for trainers in prison and probation services, promote the meaningful integration of digitalisation and artificial intelligence into training, and provide a platform to share innovative methods and digital learning tools already in use across Europe.
