Cédric works as head of the international relations unit at the French National Correctional Administration Academy (ÉNAP), which trains all categories of prison and probation staff. The international relations unit implements diverse cooperation activities on training contents & pedagogy as well as research. The goal is both to share and retrieve good practices to respond to the evolving challenges in the field, and to contribute in capacity-building endeavours for new and upcoming penitentiary academies abroad. He has represented ENAP in several consortia implementing European projects on probation and prison training (applied criminology, practical training of prison officers, transnational activities and expert groups).
He was actively involved in the steering committee of the European Penitentiary Training Academies network (EPTA) and its activities from 2012 until EPTA joined EuroPris in 2024 as an expert network. In 2021, he became member of the European Commission’s expert group on judicial training as representative of EPTA.
The EPTA network has strived for stronger cooperation between penitentiary training academies that enhances initial and continuous training, support trainers and increase awareness on penitentiary trades. With evolving challenges in the field, training is the key to prepare the staff to stand ready. What better way to respond than through collective intelligence and practical cooperation?
Cédric speaks French, English and Spanish.
