Kris is a civil servant and started on 1st April 1995 as a case worker at the Belgian Central Authority for International Co-operation in Criminal matters of the Federal Public Service Justice (former Ministry of Justice). He is working on a daily basis in cases of Transfers of Sentenced Persons, Mutual Legal Assistance Requests, European Investigation Orders and European Arrest Warrants. He is a member of the Belgian Network for International Judicial Co-operation and he is a Contact Point for the European Judicial Network (EJN).
In 2013 he became a member of the EuroPris FD 909 Expert Group and since 2020 he is the Chair of this EuroPris Network.
In the field of international co-operation in criminal matters he has been active as a trainer for the Belgian Institute for Judicial Training (IGO-IFJ), the European Academy of Law (ERA), the Belgian-Dutch Network of Magistrates.
