Christy Gamboa is the Programme Content and Trainings Manager at EuroPris, where she organises, plans, and coordinates training programmes with partners and hosts for the prison sector across Europe. Her role also includes supporting the European Penitentiary Training Academies Network (EPTA) activities and managing the EuroPris Staff Exchange Programme. She is a lawyer with an MA in Development Studies, specialising in the governance of migration and diversity, as well as public policy and management, from the International Institute of Social Studies (Erasmus University) and Leiden University.
Previously, Christy worked at the Netherlands Helsinki Committee, where she contributed to the implementation and management of various projects funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Commission across Europe. She also worked at the Hague Academy for Local Governance, where she supported the design and implementation of international training programmes for civil servants worldwide. Before moving to the Netherlands, Christy interned at a migration detention centre in Mexico and worked for two years at the Mexican National Institute of Migration. She also managed a youth volunteer group engaged in activities at the male prison in Mérida, Mexico.
